When I started searching for a publisher or book agent, a friend of a friend highly recommended Rebecca and RHG. I called RHG and spoke directly with Rebecca. She informed me of the options and my initial reaction was “EEK!” Even the least expensive publishing package was a big chunk of money for my budget.
I asked for some time to think about it. Over the next couple of days, I vacillated between “I really want to do this” and “I can’t afford to spend that much money.” After a lot of thinking-about-it meditations, “I really want to do this” won . . .
. . . and I’m glad it did!
Here’s the thing to consider: When day is done, will you look back and think, “I wish I would have?” If the answer is, “Nah, it’s not that big of a deal,” then publishing is probably not the path to go. If, however, your thinking is, “I really do want to get my thoughts published,” then go for it!
Years ago, I self-published a book with a different company; not a great experience. While the initial cost was less than with RHG, I got zero service, zero help, zero editing, zero guidance from them. The result was mediocre, and for my investment, I was looking for “WOW!” I didn’t get that from them. I did get “WOW!” from RHG.
Rebecca personally walked me through every step. She held my hand through all the forms, through all the techy-stuff that made my eyes glaze over. Working with Rebecca was incredibly useful for me professionally as well as personally. There were different aspects of business we that we focused on so it was a comprehensive program. Understanding your audience and what speaks to them (or repels them) is as critical as is understanding who it really is that we want to work with and being able to identify those people. Being very specific and very detailed with goals was an exercise that was helpful for creating my ‘game plan’ and assists with my calendar control.
Additionally, we worked on presentation skills, presentation content, and reviewed some current prospects to evaluate their situation, their need, and created strategies for solutions. I enjoyed both the group and individual sessions. I appreciate the collective thinking and sharing of a group environment but I liked the private time to drill down to my specific needs and goals. Can you tell us where you were before you started working with Rebecca?
When I met Rebecca I had a full-time job, and I also had a side business. In addition, I had just been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder. I was watching my illness progress with time, and it was getting harder for me to function at work. I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep a job for long. That thought got me to take another look at my business, which I had put on the back burner of my life. I was sure I could help people with my business’ services, but had been stuck for several years. I had almost given up trying to make it work. But now, suddenly, I had no choice. It had to work. I had to move it to the front burner. I didn’t have time to waste anymore.
So, how were you looking at things in your business?
First, I just wanted to attract clients and make some reliable money. But after working with Rebecca, I saw much more than just finding clients. I saw a bigger vision that I couldn’t see on my own. She showed me how I could impact people’s lives with my bigger vision.
What is the final result for your business?
I know what it’s like to have your back against the wall. I know the feeling when there is no other choice but to make your business work, or else. Rebecca showed me how to find clarity, and I have been able to use this clarity in my business, producing many results. The first result is that my business is a cohesive package that makes sense. It’s not random. The second is that I have a clear vision. It’s a solid, deep knowing of what my purpose is, and how I am helping people. The third result is that I am no longer stuck. Rebecca has pushed me into action.
Any last thoughts?
They say the keys to success lay in finding your gifts and talents. But when you are struggling to get by you’re not thinking about that. You just want to make some money and get out of debt. That’s where I started. But in going through this process with Rebecca I found something: You can’t be truly successful until you are living the real you, sharing your gifts and talents with the world. But how do you even find them? That’s where Rebecca comes in. She is good at teaching you to stand the truth of who are. She can help dig out your unknown gifts and talents. When you find your uniqueness, you also see the ripple effect you can have in the world by being the best possible version of yourself. She helped me find it. This is her gift and talent.
I have heard Rebecca speak on many occasions and she never ceases to inspire me and the audience to whom she is speaking. Her presentations are fun, energetic and sincere. She has a great passion for her subject and is an absolute expert. Rebecca has the ability to use the language that draws her audience to her, makes the subject easy to understand and leaves the audience wanting to hear more.
