Episode: Finding the Silver Lining: Healing, Motherhood, and New Beginnings
Empowering Women, Transforming Lives
Season 11 | Episode 67 | May 7, 2026
What if the silver lining is not always something we find after the hard season, but something we begin noticing while we are still walking through it?
In this episode of Empowering Women, Transforming Lives, we leaned into a beautiful and heartfelt conversation about healing, motherhood, starting over, and learning to cherish the now.
This month, we are reflecting on what it means to find the silver lining in life. Sometimes that looks like pausing long enough to breathe. Sometimes it looks like remembering the women who shaped us. And sometimes, it looks like allowing ourselves to begin again.
Our guest, Sherry Lynn Campbell, shared how storytelling has been woven through her life from childhood, to teaching, to writing books that can be passed from one generation to the next.
Through her book M is for Mother, Sherry reminds us that motherhood is not just one moment. It is a journey made up of memories, milestones, songs, simple moments, and love that continues to move forward.
As Sherry shared:
“Motherhood is a wonderful non-ending journey. It has ups and downs and you’ll find lots of silver linings along the way. And cherish now. Every new now that you get, cherish it.”
What a beautiful reminder for all of us.
Not just mothers, but daughters, grandmothers, caregivers, and those who carry love forward in quiet and powerful ways.

Starting Over Is Not Failure
Our guest Shelly Saturne brought such a powerful message for women who are healing, rebuilding, and rediscovering themselves after difficult life changes.
So often, when life shifts, we can feel like we have lost ourselves. We may wonder who we are now, what comes next, or how to begin again.
Shelly shared a beautiful truth:
“Starting over does not mean you have nothing. As long as you have yourself and you have God, you have everything that you need to restore yourself and become whole again.”
That kind of truth gives us room to breathe.
Starting over is not punishment. It is not proof that you failed. It can be preparation. It can be redirection. It can be the place where something new begins to grow.
One Step at a Time
If you are in a season where you feel unsure, tired, or disconnected from yourself, this conversation is an invitation to pause and listen.
Shelly shared three simple places to begin:
- Get honest about where you are and what you need.
- Get supported because healing is not meant to happen alone.
- Get moving, even if you only know the next right step.
You do not need to have the whole plan figured out.
You simply need enough courage for the next step.

Take a breath.
Reflect on what this conversation may be stirring in you.
You may want to ask yourself:
- What silver lining am I being invited to notice?
- What part of my story am I ready to cherish?
- Where am I being invited to begin again?
- What support do I need in this season?
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are not alone.
And the place you are standing today may still be soil for something beautiful to grow.
